I had a great stay at this cozy hostel just across the station. The room had a beautiful wooden design and the beds were really comfy. The place was very new and clean, and I liked that there was a washing machine and a kitchen available. However, what stood out the most was the staff. They were extremely friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. I appreciated their suggestions, our nice chats, and the delicious coffee and tea they served. I would definitely choose to stay at Why Kumano again.

my second stay in nachikatsuura was even better thanks to why kumano. the staff were so helpful, maru gave me great suggestions and helped me book a boat trip. the beds were comfy and the location was perfect, right next to the train and bus without any noise. loved it!

I had a wonderful stay at Why Kumano! The location was unbeatable, just a stone's throw away from Kii-Katsuura Station and conveniently close to restaurants and the bus stop for Nachi Falls. Goro, the owner, was incredibly friendly and provided great recommendations for the area. I also enjoyed his bar, where I indulged in delicious coffee and drinks.

One specific situation I experienced was arriving on a rainy day and needing to dry my clothes. Although the single clothes dryer was in high demand, the broken clothes horse in my room and the efficient heating ensured that my clothes were dry by the next morning.

The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and there is a lounge area where you can socialize, play board games, and enjoy complimentary coffee in the morning. The capsule itself was comfortable, equipped with a USB-powered fan, and the facilities were clean. There are also towels and a laundry machine available for a small fee. I had a great time and would definitely stay again.
